Weekly Menu 12.20-12.26

I feel like Thanksgiving was just yesterday, yet here we are, heading into Christmas week. We had a glorious snow day last week, reminiscent of the Connecticut snow days I used to have when I was a kid, and I made sure we all took a break and ENJOYED it. We sledded. We made up all sorts of games in the snow. We made hot chocolate and watched Christmas movies by the fire. We baked. We did it ALL. I was exhausted by the end of the day, but my kids said it was the best snow day ever. This is what it's about, this whole season. Spend the time with your family. Take a break from everything else. Stop reading the news. Block out the noise. And for me, this means cook. Make meals (good or bad), and break bread together. Share the lollipops and lemons from your day.

This Christmas for us looks much different than years past. We will certainly miss those we can't be with in order to keep our most vulnerable safe from harm, but we will still carve our roast beast and eat lots of Christmas cookies. Whatever you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful week with your family, whether that's in person or via Zoom. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Food, puzzles, family, friends, music, dance...these are a few of my favorite things (not necessarily in that order!). Cooking has always been a large part of who I am.
